Adventures for Thrill Seekers
10. Volcanic Ice Caves, Lake Myvatn, Iceland

I don't know of many locations where one can explore volcanic caves with large ice formations. I speak from personal experience when I say that these caves are amazing, and the trip is great. Studded boots allow you to walk on the ice, & the fact the caves have small crevices which one must squeeze through only add to the experience.
9. Cage Diving, Cape Town, South Africa

Everyone's seen the movie Jaws, now imagine that thing coming straight at you while you hope that your cage has been closed correctly. If that's not enough to qualify this as one of the world's primo adventures for thrill seekers than nothing is, & South Africa is the world's premier place to cage dive with great white sharks.
8. Visit the world's last frontier, Antarctica

The true last frontier, the continent that everyone forgets when they're reciting the names of the continents receiving only 15,000 tourists a year. Antarctica is, well it's hard to get to is definitely worth the trip as well as the expenditure. With a multitude of voyages embarking by ship from Ushuaia, some of the trips even come inclusive with overnight camping on the continent itself. Besides where else can you take a small boat with a loved one while having champagne, & chip off a piece of ice & have a hundred thousand year old ice cube?
7. Bungee Jumping, Verzasca Dam, Switzerland

Bungee jumping in itself is for the bold at heart, but bungee jumping from a 722 foot dam in the Swiss Alps is what makes you truly adventurous. This jump was featured in the opening scene of a James Bond movie for goodness sake.
6. See the wildlife, Africa

If close encounters with lions, & charging bull elephants are your type of thrill, well then this is where you should go. Africa is a continent so vast, & varied it had to be included as a whole in this list. From the 8th continent of Madagascar to the animals of Serengeti all the way to camel trekking in the Sahara this place has everything.
5. Hike the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, Peru

Of course Peru is here because of the famed 5-day trail journey to the legendary Machu Picchu. I'm not sure what's more for the thrill seeker, the adventure of the hiking or the possibility of being robbed of all your equipment in route. That may be coming off quite harsh, but Peru is one of the world's crime capitals.
4. See where Darwin got his start, Galapagos Islands

I prefer to think of these islands as an adventure for the intellectual thrill seeker. You might not find bungee jumping or anything of that sort. But you'll find some beautiful & unique animal species, & a lot of beaches upon which to ponder the evolutionary wonders of the world. Also these islands offer great sea turtle encounter opportunities, and there's a chance that the Ecuadorian government will close the islands to tourists to protect the enviroment.
3. BASE Jumping

It's like skydiving except for people aren't total wusses. And it's also illegal in almost every place on the planet. Except of course for Idaho, safety of the citizenry never really did mean much to those people anyway. But hey, at least you can BASE jump.
2. Sail Around the World

Who hasn't been sitting at a lounge bar in West Hollywood & had the inevitable sailing around the world topic brought up? Well if you're sick of all your friends being able to say that they've done it while you sit in silence, there's only one thing left to do... sail around the world. Personally I hate sailing, and boats in general, but I hear some people like them.
1. Climb Mount Everest

Mount Everest, the supreme adventure for thrill seekers! And it may not actually be as far fetched as you might believe. Sure maybe you won't be able to climb to its peak, but that doesn't mean you can't go to the base camp. At 18,000 feet the base camp offers a challenge, but not an impossibility. A lot of tour companies operate hiking expeditions to the Everest base camp generally taking 14 days. Just think about the possibilities, you would be able to say that you climbed on Mount Everest. If that's not a conversation starter well then I don't know what is.
